#3 Simple Shaped Casket

This simple, old-world style coffin is ideal for those wishing to express tradition, moderation and economy without sacrificing decorum. Dignified in its simplicity, the Simple Shaped Casket is similar in design to those that we monks have been using here at New Melleray Abbey for the past 160 years. It is available in Rustic Walnut, Natural Oak, Stained Oak, or Pine.

This casket’s lid features two pieces and is fastened by screws. The lid may be custom engraved for display during visitation services.

Includes: casket, guest book and four keepsake crosses all personalized with engraved name and dates.

Every human being is a treasure and each casket and urn is built to reflect the treasure it holds. Every casket, urn and cross is blessed by a monk. (our Prayers)

The name of each person buried in one of our caskets or urns is inscribed in our Memorial Book placed in the chapel at Trappist Caskets.
As a living memorial, a tree seedling is planted in the monastic forest on the Abbey grounds as our way to honor your loved one and to give back to the earth. This planting is consecrated with a special blessing.
A Mass is celebrated in memory of those who use one of our blessed vessels for their final repose.
