Custom Engraving

We are now pleased to offer custom engraving on all wooden urns and Guest Books. Whether the product is ordered for an immediate need delivery, or on a planned pre-need basis, we have the ability to engrave just prior to shipping. A custom engraving adds a touch of warmth, character, and personality to each product.

When you choose a Guest Book or the Notre Dame Urn Package, you receive:

three lines of text:

IN MEMORY OF preface
name of person, followed by a comma and year graduated if applicable
date of person’s birth, a cross, date of person’s death

The Keepsake Cross

Each Notre Dame Casket or Urn Package comes with a removable keepsake cross inside the engraved cross on the lid and is intended to be kept by the family of the deceased prior to burial. Four (4) additional crosses with the name of the deceased on the back are available for all family members.

Memorial Tree Planting

For each person who is buried in a Trappist Casket or Urn, a tree will be planted in New Melleray’s award winning, sustainable forest. This living memorial is our way to honor your loved one and to give back to the earth. The tree will be planted in the springtime of the year and the occasion will be consecrated by a special blessing of the monks. A notice will be sent to the family indicating the time and location of the planting, and for whom the tree was planted.

Wooden Guest Register Books

A wooden register book for wake and funeral services is available in Oak and Walnut. These guest registers books are an appropriate match to a Trappist Casket or Urn. The guest register is engraved with the deceased's name and dates of birth and death. Your choice of Guest Book comes with each Notre Dame Casket or Urn Package. See above for engraving details.
